The Beaches of Palos Verdes and the Beach Cities

It's hot here in the Greater Los Angeles area, and per a bevy of weather forecasters, the thermometer is going to reach new heights today. With that in mind, I thought you might like to see a few photos of the beaches (and a few rocky coastlines) of the South Bay of Los Angeles.

Private Beach in Rancho Palos Verdes--residency or membership required.

Cool breezes on the coast of Palos Verdes CA

Not much sand here, but look at that whitewater along the Palos Verdes coastline.     View from Hollywood Riviera
What could be better than an evening stroll to escape the heat and enjoy a Palos Verdes sunset?

Stroll along The Strand in the beach cities and dip your toes in the cool froth of the Pacific Ocean.

It's the ocean, so swim close to one of the lifeguard shacks--there are riptides and sharks (yikes) in the beautiful Pacific Ocean.
   Hermosa Pier Sunset
An evening stroll on the pier (safely above the water) is the perfect way to end a summer day.
